- Intro...
-
- This is a nice simple desktop puzzle game, in which you have to have to line
- up the blocks in the right columns.
- After a while, things get a bit more complicated - there is more than one
- layer to solve, and blocks may be moved between layers...
-
-
- Starting a game...
-
- When you first load Mindtrap, you can:
- - start a new game, by clicking Select on the Mindtrap icon; or
- - resume an old game, by clicking Adjust instead.
- You will be asked to enter your name, and, if you're resuming an old game,
- the passcode. Remember that your name is used to help decode the passcode!
- The game window will now open, unless you entered an invalid passcode.
-
- If you have a game in progress, clicking on the Mindtrap icon will reopen
- the game window. Game time is suspended while this window is closed.
-
-
- Playing the game...
-
- The playing area consists of a 6 by 4 array of squares some (or all) of
- which contain a playing piece, which is both colour coded and numbered.
- On top of this, there is a 5 by 3 array of pin holes, some or all of which
- contain pins.
- Below this is shown the number of moves remaining, the passcode for this
- level, and the layer number within this level. The arrows beside the layer
- number allow you to move up or down a layer.
- Below this is a row of icons indicating which colour in which column.
-
- The aim is to line up all the blocks of each colour in the appropriate
- columns (or 1 to 6, from left to right) ... for each layer.
-
- To move the playing pieces around, click on the pins as follows:
- Select - rotate the four pieces surrounding the pin one place
- anticlockwise;
- Adjust - rotate them one place clockwise;
- ⇧Select - swap them with the four in the same positions in the layer
- above;
- ⇧Adjust - swap them with those on the layer below.
-
- You may view the current total time taken and moves made by clicking Menu
- over the playing window.
-
-
- The iconbar menu...
-
- Info - obvious really.
- New game - either enter your name in the dialogue box, or click Select to
- use the previously entered name.
- Old game - enter your name and the passcode in the dialogue box.
- Quit - another obvious one.
